About this piece

We build this pair on straight 14G surgical steel posts measuring 16mm between the ends. Each bar carries an AB color synthetic opal butterfly with cubic zirconia accents on one side and a classic 5mm ball on the other. Your gauge needs to match what your piercer used.

Details

Steel post gauge

We turn the straight shafts to a standard 14G thickness, which measures 1.6mm across. The length between the butterfly and the screw-on ball measures 16mm, or five eighths of an inch.

AB opal butterfly

The decorative end features an iridescent AB color synthetic opal cut into a butterfly shape. We flank the wings with small cubic zirconia stones that catch the light from different angles.

Surgical steel build

Our bars and end fittings use 316L surgical steel with a smooth surface finish. The metal is nickel-free, lead-free, and hypoallergenic as specified for this design, offering solid resistance to tarnishing.

Threaded end fittings

Both ends unscrew from the straight post so you can insert the bar from either direction. Wipe the piece clean with a soft dry cloth before tightening the 5mm ball back into place.
